Yeast Infection in Men and Women -
What to do About it?
Welcome to my new blog, All things for health and beauty.
I've created this blog to help you find useful products and
services for some of the common ailments you may experience
from time to time. Elsewhere, I have websites, hubpages, and
lenses that offer information on weight loss, colon care, and
obesity treatments. However, there is always so much to
learn, that I find that there is still more information that
really fit into those narrow niches, but for which a
need exists.
In this first issue, I tackle the nasty problem of yeast infection.
Yeast infection is a common ailment among men and women.
It is not often spoken about, probably because the manifestation
of yeast infection is so very personal. Nevertheless, information
is good to have, whether it is of a personal nature or not.
The important thing to have is accuracy of the information,
of course some logical reason for it.
In this case, I will attempt to be as accurate as possible, and also
offer some solutions that is of the highest efficacy, and which
effective as well.
Yeast infections result from an overgrowth of yeast in the body.
It begins in the intestines, where the candida organism exists
normally in small amounts. It can frequently spread elsewhere
the body, creating what is known as "systemic candidiasis" or
"candida syndrome."

Candidiasis is an infection caused by a group of microscopic fungi
or yeast. There are more than 20 species of Candida, the most
common being Candida albicans. These fungi live on all surfaces
of our bodies. Under certain conditions, they can become so
numerous they cause infections, particularly in warm and
moist areas. Examples of such infections are vaginal yeast
infections, thrush, skin and diaper rash, and nailbed infections.
When we're healthy, candida yeast is kept in check with a
balance of intestinal flora--but hormonal changes, high acid
levels, stress, and especially long-term antibiotic or steroid
use can disrupt that balance and cause an overgrowth, which
becomes an infection.
Candida yeast can be kept in check by some simple precautions
that I have already about elsewhere. For example, if you
take a lot of anti-biotic drugs, it is a good idea to follow through
with a good dose of probiotics. Why? This helps
to build back the good flora in your intestines that
were destroyed by anti-biotics.
If yeast infection is left unchecked, it can change to its fungal
form an
d multiply rapidly, sprouting roots that perforatethe gut walls and carry the overgrowth to the rest of the body.
This produces what is known as "leaky gut" and allows
to enter the bloodstream, overloading the immune system.
to say, this can result in major health problems, which is not
the scope of this article. In any case, you will need to find
quality help in treating yeast infection. WebMd has
extensive chronicles of information on this topic here.
John Festerbooth offers some advice on how to
diagnose and treat candida (yeast infection) naturally
if you are a male. I have not tried his methods, but
it may be worth a look, if this is a problem you are
experiencing. His information, in the form
of an e-book discusses:
(a) the different kings of yeast infections that affect men (b) Male yeast infection symptoms (c) ways to diagnose candida infection (d) proven treatments for yeast infection (e) examples and pictures of yeast infection
and much more. You can visit his website
